Vintage William 'Bil' Britton Rubber Faced Horned Worm Hand Puppet. Made by Ideal Toy. Fun and whimsical horned monster worm, painted soft pliable rubber vinyl face, multi-color 'tube sock' cotton sleeve. 3 1/2" across (head) x 10 1/2" long (inc sock). Good vintage condition. Nice color with minimal paint wear. Sock has good color but has some small holes.
**Bil Braird (Aug 1904-Mar 1-987) began building puppets as a child. And by the age of 14, was creating his own puppets and giving performances. In 1928, he helped create the balloons for the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and created shows for Busch Gardens. Bil Baird trained a generation of young puppeteers, including Jim Henson.
