Edward W. Bok (1863-1930) was a Dutch-born American editor, author, and philanthropist who, for three decades, edited the Ladies Home Journal and made it one of the most popular and culturally important magazines in the world. From an impoverished immigrant background, Bok modeled the proverbial rags to riches story by unstinting labor, self-improvement, and skillful networking. His autobiography earned a Pulitzer-Prize in 1920. This second memoir includes stories and reflections not found in his previous book. A fascinating window onto American society in the early 20th century! This copy is overall good condition with tight binding and clean unmarked pages. The cloth and paper covered boards have some wear, especially significant corner bumping and fraying on the edges. Otherwise, this is a good condition book! The pages remain bright white. See all photos carefully to judge the condition. Smoke-free home.
