This vintage item from the 1930s is a black and white silk art framed piece from the Kuo Hwa Artistic Silk-Weaving Factory in Hangchow, China. The silk was originally owned by Sarah Gale Parker, a missionary in China during the same time period. The frame dimensions are 9.25 inches in length and 18 inches in height. The scene depicts two boaters on a beautiful lake with a Willow Tree in the foreground, local architecture, and mountains in the distance. Exquisite would be an understatement. The item is in its original vintage condition and is a wonderful addition to any collection of Asian antiques.History Obtained: This belonged to Sarah Gale Parker, who was a missionary to China and was from Kentucky. Miss Parker later gave them to Fay Jewett. Her daughter gave them to Glenna Wheeler Fitzgerald, born and raised in Kentucky and resided there most of her life. Then it was gifted to Mary Hickman Fitzgerald who kept it in a closet for many years.
