The lot in the pictures is a scarab commemorating 2 obelisk of Thutmode 3rd. This ancient Egyptian Scarab dates back to the New Kingdom, Specifically the joint reign of Thatshepsut and Thutmose 3rd (ca. 1479-1458 BC) It's made of Faience and measures approximately 1.6 cm (5/8 inches) in length. The inscription on the scarab, "Menkheperre who's 2 obelisk endure in the temple of Amun" Likely Commemorate the placement erected by Thutmose the 3rd in the Temple of Aumun at Karnak. The scarab also includes the Cartouche of Thutomosw the 3rd its Prenomen Menkhepeme, and protection. It was acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of art as a gift from Mohammed Mohassib.
