Wonderful. Vintage, Wooden, Silver, Brass, POPE PIUS XII Christ Crucifix Pectoral Cross, Signed FRANCE.
Measuring 4" x 2" x 5/8" deep, with a 1/2" diameter medal depicting Pope Pius XII on one side and The Virgin Mary on the reverse.
I have added a 30" x 5/8" black ribbon chain, or buyer may use their own chain.
Dating from the 1940s-1950s, this unisex religious item is composed of Ebony Wood inset in Nickel Silver Metal with Brass Christ Corpus on the front.
Christ is three-dimensional and highly detailed with the initialism INRI, "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews", above.
Pectoral Crosses hung from the neck or waist by a chain or cord, and were most likely religious groups' profession crosses.
came from a now-closed monastery in France.
