“Allela C. Cornell was born in New York City on January 11, 1914. Cornell was a pupil of Kuniyoshi, Zorach, and Alexander Brook. Equally facile with watercolor and oil, she was primarily a portraitist.
While based in NYC, she spent long periods in San Francisco during the 1930s. She did not marry. She committed a suicide on October 4, 1946, NYC.”
