This is a very nice pair of hand done crewel needlework pictures depicting a courting man and woman of Victorian era. Done in mostly shades of blue and white. They are originally from the estate of my great grandparents so I can date them to at least the 1940's, but most likely made earlier. The needlework is in exceptional condition, framed and matted under glass (no cracks), with no stains or damage. The matting is a brown color. It may have darkened with age. Someone repainted one of the frames (it's a bit whiter than the other) and there is paint overlap on the paper backing, which has a few very small tears in it as well. See photos. Framed dimensions of each measure 9" x 7" x .75"
