The glass, though pre-loved, is still a rare piece worth having. There are lots of glasses with her image on them but, although faded, this glass carries the signature of Sam Shaw, the photographer who captured Marilyn, standing over a subway grate with her white skirt billowing - one of the most famous photographs of her ever taken. Mr. Shaw was himself a famous photographer who chronicled not only Hollywood stars but who's work created an historic record of the 20th century.
