Vintage Ky Niem Hand Painted Lacquer Ruler featuring goldfish and aquatic plant design.
Condition: Good vintage condition with some visible wear, scratches, scuffs, and minor imperfections along the lacquer, as shown in photos. Small surface chips and marks at ends and edges are present.
This 50cm ruler is crafted with a lacquered black finish and intricate mother of pearl inlay depicting three goldfish, reeds, and decorative stones, highlighted with delicate gold painted accents.
The top features "Ky Niem" hand-painted in gold script at one end. Graduated in centimeters, numbering is in gold.
Back side finished in plain gloss black; signs of age, some glaze bubbles and marks at each end (see closeup photos).
Mother of pearl inlay details give shimmering, dimensional effect to goldfish and landscape. Each fish is uniquely hand-engraved and set.
Marked with subtle characters on the reverse end.
Era: Believed to be late 20th century (vintage).
