Mid-century Modern Vintage SHELL ART Seashells Trinket Jewelry Box

Yes it is finally time for me to part with my shell boxes. I don't know why I just like them this one is one of my favorites. This is mid-century shell art. So cool. The legend goes - - these boxes were made by sailors who were passing time while on ship, making boxes like these for their wives or girlfriends or mothers. The true mid-century modern boxes were usually made in the South Pacific by either sailors or military men. This box has a few shells missing. Otherwise in beautiful condition for the age. Someone who enjoys shell art boxes will appreciate its beauty as is, or if they'd like, they can add some shells to the box. The base of the box is wood. It has wood block feet. 7 and 1/2 by 5 by 3 and 1/2 in tall.
