This is an O scale Lionel 2245 Texas Special F-3 AB Diesel Locomotive Set from 1954-55. The 2245 is relatively rare and was produced for only two years. The first of the single-motor F3s, the 2245 remains popular with collectors today. The A unit is powered, the B unit is non-powered.
Set being sold as-is. See pictures for condition. I have no way to test if powered unit works. I inherited this from my dad’s collection and he was working on restoring it. Wheel/truck trim is removed from one set of wheels on the A unit but brackets and screws are accounted for. There is wear and scratches on the surface and 3 of 4 plastic porthole windows are missing from the B unit.
I’ve seen operable sets sell for over $600 and similar untested sets in worse visual condition sell for $250+. Hoping this will go to a good home that will love on it as much as my dad planned to.
