Bavarian Collector's Plate

German Collector's Plate titled "AM BACKHAUS" (THE BAKEHOUS). It is the second plate in a series of a limited edition of Off the Main Roads; Romantic Village Views. The porcelain plate from 1990 by artist Helmut Glassi depicts a bakehouse with red and yellow flames rising from the oven as the farmer's wife keeps checking that the stones are hot enough to bake her bread. The plate which measures 7 1/2" is signed H. Glassi. The reverse of the plate in German translates, " This is plate # 3715B with the title 'At the Bakery'. Second edition in the collection "Off the main Roads: Romantic Village Views." The original was created by the contemporary artist Helmut Glassi especially for this collector's plate series and transferred to fine porcelain by Johann Seltmann, Vohenstrauss. The edition is limited to 95 firing days." Included is a certificate or authenticity and the plates description in both German and English. Comes in its original box and the paperwork.
