The Shadow made its radio debut on September 26, 1937 and ended its run on December 26, 1954. It was one of the most popular shows in the history of radio. The series grew out of the Shadow novels written by Walter Gibson and published in Street & Smith magazines.
Orson Welles, 22 years old at the time, provided the first voice of the Shadow and Agnes Moorehead became the first Margo Lane.
The Shadow announced his arrival on the airwaves with an eerie laugh and the chilling voice that slowly intoned...
"Who knows... what evil... Iilllurks... in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!" The music came up... a chilling rendition of Omphale's "Spinning Wheel." And as each episode unfolded, the Shadow taught the wrongdoers that "the weed of crime bears bitter fruit!"
Here for your listening pleasure are the "lost shows." This is a 2 cassette 2 hours broadcast. In great condition.
