The volume is the catalogue
of the first solo exhibition of Gianluigi Toccafondo and presents a cycle of
works from his recent production. A sequence of oil paintings on paper, medium
format, representing interiors of cinemas from the Seventies, painted in oil on
coated paper, a technique that enhances strong and dense colours, with a
prevalence of reds and yellows. In each painting appear elements of human
figures or animal forms. Toccafondo is one of the most versatile Italian
artists, appreciated internationally. Painter and illustrator for magazines and
books, among the most famous Italian authors of animated cinema and author of
short films, creator of commercials, he created the theme song for the 1999
Venice Film Festival and several theme songs for television programmes. He has
exhibited his works in important exhibitions and collaborates with cultural and
art magazines.
