A Bit of History:
Peter Hunt was a self-taught folk artist and furniture decorator who gained fame in the 1930s and 40s for his hand-painted furniture designs inspired by European folk art. He initially started as a shopkeeper and later expanded into a "Peasant Village" in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where he created and sold his decorated furniture. He was known for his charm, wit, and storytelling abilities, which helped him gain the patronage of wealthy socialites and find his work in high-end department stores.
