These are really cool and in decent condition. There's a fair amount of silver here for silver enthusiasts, but it also has a glass liner where the salt or pepper goes.
That is inset into the silver, and it is also weighted at the bottom. I do not know the weight material. I know that each one of these weighs about four ounces. This set is in pretty good condition. They will Polish up nicely. The tarnish will come right off like any other silver, when done correctly. And there is light denting to one of the caps as shown in pictures, the other one is pretty flawless
