Antique 19th C. Charles Guerre Langres Paris Set 12 Knives Sterling Silver Caps
This is a set of 12 knives--six are 9.5" and six are 8" with appropriately sized blades, ferrules and handles. All are monogrammed on the handles. The end caps, ferrules and monograms all acid test for sterling silver; the blades do not. I have no idea of what the handles are made; due to their age they are likely not celluloid or other man-made material. I assume they are bone or ivory but I do not know.
Clearly the blades are in poor condition; I do not know if they can be polished and sharpened by a knife pro. I do not know if the embossed caps and ferrules are solid or a layer of sterling wrapped over another material. Basically, you would be buying these for their history, age and awesome factor. If you wish to dismantle and harvest the sterling, well, that's an option. The box is original but shows it age.
