For sale is a handsome antique stoneware jug for "The 'Kintore' Reserve Stock Scotch Whisky," dating to the pre-Prohibition era (circa 1890-1919).
This one-quart jug features a classic two-tone design with a salt-glazed body and a brown-glazed neck and handle.
The front is adorned with a detailed black transfer-print featuring the brand name, the coat of arms of the Earl of Kintore, and flanking Scottish thistles. It notes the importer as "Chas. Fraser, New York, U.S.A." This piece is a wonderful example of early spirits advertising.
It stands approximately 7.75 inches tall.
IMPORTANT- CONDITION:
Please look at all photos carefully. This jug is being sold "as-is" and is priced to reflect its condition.
A perfect piece for adding authentic, rustic character to a home bar, farmhouse kitchen, or for a collector of early whisky advertising.
