To replace a broken pickup tooth: Remove appropriate finger band, remove broken tooth, install new tooth.
It is allowable for the plastic tooth-bar bearing halves to run a little loose; up to 1/8" (3 mm). Tighten bearing bolts until tooth bar rotates freely -
Never over-tighten.
PICKUP CAM FOLLOWER BEARINgS
Inspect cam follower bearings for wear or damage yearly or every 100 hours. The failure of one bearing could cause extensive pickup damage - replace bearings at first sign of
wear.
To replace cam follower bearings: Clean any material from the ends of reel. Remove end band to gain access to bearings. Position tooth bar so that bearing nut appears in end casting access hole. Remove bearing nut at bolt - replace bearing.
Torque bearing bolts to 37 ft-Ibs (50 N.m).
