This handsome antique matchbook case is made of solid sterling silver with brass and copper inlaid vertical stripes. The A.R.T. Mfg. Co. case is dated 1904 and is testimony to the fine artistry of the time. Marked, "Sterling /354B /hand hammered" (see photo #8) and "A.R.T. Mfg. Co. New York /Re-Patent Nov. 29, 1904" (photo #7). Size: 2½ in. long x 1 5/8 in. wide x 3/8 inch deep. In very good vintage condition; has minor wear, but not excessive; does not detract from the overall appearance of the item; any wear is consistent with the item's age. I have not cleaned or polished the case, but I'm sure it will shine up beautifully.
