This is a glass basket, white outside clear edge, and blue speckled inside the basket. This basket is amazing. It's beautiful. It's no flaws, the bottom is a little funky. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that or not. The handle is twisted glass Woven ? There is a piece of paper inside it says Vash Murrhina, late 1800s. Sandwich Massachusetts. I found this little tidbit about the glass.Vasa Murrhina is the name of a glassware made by the Vasa Murrhina Art Glass Company of Sandwich, Massachusetts, about
1884. The glassware was transparent and was embedded with small pieces of colored glass and metallic flakes. The mica flakes were coated with silver, gold, copper, or nickel.

Some of the pieces were cased. The same ty of glass was made in England. Collectors often confuse Vasa Murrhina glass with aventurine, spatter, or spangle glass. There is uncertainty about what actually was made by the Vasa Murrhina factory. Vasa Murrhina means
"vessel of gems."
