Stamped 925 G Sterling on the inner rim.
This beautiful sterling silver matchbox or Vesta case was crafted by F.S. Gilbert & Company.
The structure of the match box is without any structural damage. In great condition for being over 100 years old!
THE FRONT AND BACK HAVE A REPEAT EMBOSSED SCENE OF A LADIES FACE WITHIN A SWIRL OF VINES, HAS A SLIGHT CELTIC FEEL TO DESIGN.
I date this antique to the date range of circa 1884 to 1921, however it's more likely the range can be narrowed
down to 1900 to 1915 pertaining to the majority of his work.
