I purchased this in the later half of the 1990s at the New Museum, located at 235 Bowery in Manhattan. I was there for a David Wojnarowicz exhibition in case anyone wants to pinpoint the timeline. My guess is 1997-98.
I bought this as a gift for my brother but he put it in a desk drawer and never used it. I was recently cleaning out that desk and came across this 25 years later.
It has never been used, though by design, the material is a distressed look. I'll be sending this along with the original card that came with it. I guess it was to show people what they're supposed to put in the slots, or maybe it held the price tag.
It was manufactured by Loop NYC and released by the Andy Warhol Foundation, which sponsored the exhibit.
