Rare Stratton Ladies Compact, brand foundation on the top of inner lid. See photos. This compact is designed with an inner lid that separates the powder from the mirror. Beneath the inner lid is a screen that is directly over the powder and made with room for a dainty powder puff. There is no puff with this compact. SIZE 4×4.
An elegant design is etched and painted black to accentuate the design. The bottom is etched with a circular pattern; a small dent can be seen on the bottom. The mirror has a small defect, not broken glass sharp edges or splintering,more like an inner shatter on the underside of the lid on the edge where stamped 'made in england'. Light signs of use, no deep scrapes,mirror secure overall, operational without issue.
Stratton produced its first compact in 1923. This particular compact and others were produced using quality material from the U.S.A.
