Vintage Avon Imperial Jewel Compact; Gold/Rhinestone Clasp & Mirror; Screen/Puff

This beautiful square shaped compact is the “Imperial Jewel” by Avon. Made of gold tone metal with a brushed finish, the compact has a gorgeous beautifully designed round clasp adorned with rhinestones. The interior opens to a mirror on one side with Avon inscribed under and an a shallow welled area for loose powder. A white mesh powder screen insert is included along with an unused Avon inscribed decorative powder puff. Dimensions are 3” x 3” x 1/2” high. Avon produced the Imperial Jewel compacts in the 1960’s and this one is in wonderful antique vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks or flaws on the exterior or interior, no damage to the mirror or clasp and no missing rhinestones. From the appearance of the welled area, the new condition of both the mesh powder screen insert and powder puff, appears the compact was never used with loose powder. This glamorous and classically design compact is perfect to add to a collection and just lovely to display on a vanity or dresser.
