This dress was made/designed by Albertina-Roma in the 1960’s.
It is royal blue, tightly woven wool, double breasted with naturally aged bronze buttons. This is most likely a coat, not a dress. The size is likely a U.S. Medium. There are some pulls and I’ve tried to show this in pictures, otherwise this vintage piece is in very good condition.
About Albertina Giubbolini:
Giubbolini founded her atelier in Rome in 1952.
She was known as the "Magician of Knitwear" and the "Italian Chanel".
Her clients included Elizabeth Taylor, Gloria Swanson, Ava Gardner, Lana Turner, and Liv Ulmann.
Her work was sold in high-end boutiques in Paris and London, as well as in the US at Saks, Lord and Taylor, and Bloomingdales.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute has several examples of Italian fashion from the designer Albertina Giubbolini (1921-2009) in its collection.
