Description:
This charming vintage Valentine's Day postcard, from Series No. 1636 and printed in Germany, features the work of artist Kathryn Elliot. The illustration depicts a stylish woman in a red and white fur-trimmed coat and a large hat, holding a fur muff. A cherubic cupid is peeking over a brick wall, holding a string attached to her. The card has a red border and the words "St Valentine's Greeting" in the top left corner. A sentiment at the bottom reads, "An arrow of love has pierced my heart through...and I think Master Cupid was instructed by you." The back of the postcard is postmarked February 10, 1914, from St. Paul, Minnesota, and is addressed to Miss Nellie Healy, also in St. Paul. A short message reads, "With love, Lillian."
