A superb original hand-signed painting on papyrus with matte and metallic paints. This painting depicts the throne of Tutankhamun, Queen Ankhesenamun holds a salve cup and spreads perfumed oil on her husband's collar in a typical Amarna style scene. The sun disc Aten shines above the royal couple. Papyrus is a material similar to thick paper that was used in ancient times as a writing surface. It was made from the pith of the papyrus plant.
This painting will be shipped framed and packed well. If you have other shipping specifications, please contact us before ordering.
Tutankhamun is the most famous and instantly recognizable Pharaoh in the modern world. His golden sarcophagus is now a symbol almost synonymous with Egypt. His name means `living image of [the god] Amun'.

We acquired this on a trip to Egypt .
