This bowl is in great shape for its age because it is handmade and probably hand thrown the lid does not seat well. I think most bowls of this era are the same problem because they would make the lid in the bowl separate. Just wanted to mention it.
It is a heavy bowl over 9 pounds. I believe solid heavy stoneware would probably cook amazing no markings no cracks in the bowl at all just the areas on the blue. Those areas are not rough to the touch. Not sure if the glaze popped off during firing or if it was actually chipped.
I've done quite a bit of research on this, trying to determine more information about it because it does have a little bit of damage. I am pricing it accordingly.
