Hand painted original by Audrey Berggren, circa 1940s. Berggren painted Swedish motifs onto wooden plates and she was so successful that her designs were purchased and sold by the Marshall Field's department stores. In the 1950s the Berggrens opened their own business, the Berggren Trayner Company, and they started decorating tiles, porcelain dinnerware, enamelware coffee and tea kettles with decals.
