This is a hardcover with gilt lettering and design on the front cover and spine. This hardcover is in very good condition. No writing. Tight covers and binding. Some light wear to the edges. 422 clean pages. There is a stain on the bottom close book pages (see picture). Nice blue color on the top close book pages.
Richard Evelyn Byrd Jr. (October 25, 1888 – March 11, 1957) was an American naval officer, and pioneering aviator, polar explorer, and organizer of polar logistics. Aircraft flights in which he served as a navigator and expedition leader crossed the Atlantic Ocean, a segment of the Arctic Ocean, and a segment of the Antarctic Plateau.
