Front and back endpapers are illustrated with “Map of the Kon-Tiki Expedition”. The front cover is embossed with an image of the Incan chieftain, Kon-Tiki. Gilt lettering on spine. Blue cloth binding. Copyright Rand McNally & Co. Made in USA.
The page opposite the title page is inscribed in ink “E. E. DuPont 1950”. The signature "MAY" be that of Ethel DuPont (1916-1965), former wife of Franklin Roosevelt, Jr. & Benjamin S. Warren. The signature is *NOT* authenticated. A 1950 New Year’s Eve dance invitation card at the Wilmington Country Club in Delaware is included with the book.
Condition is used. There is corner bending on the front and back cover boards. There is small area of loss of paper on interior endpapers. Interior pages are in good condition. Binding is tight. No writing in book.
