These beautiful tea vessels are from heritage Porcelain maker, Phúc Thanh, located in Bát Tráng, Vietnam. Ceramic production in Bat Trang has existed since at least the 14th century.
These vintage vessels are hand painted with the dragon and the phoenix. The combination of the dragon and phoenix represent lovers’ happiness, good luck, position and fame and happiness in marriage. Therefore, you often see the depiction of this pair in the decoration of a traditional Vietnamese wedding. These lovely depictions live together forever on these tea cups, making for the most desirous of wedding gifts to a lucky couple.
They are also wonderful to celebrate the year of the dragon.
